Due to unplanned sickness and isolation of the clinical team, we are currently working on a reduced clinical workforce. As a result of this we are providing urgent care only in the form of immediate and necessary treatment.
To ensure we are able to provide medical care to our patients most at need we have made the difficult decision to turn off eConsult for clinical queries. This change will take place from Monday 2nd August 2021 and we will continue to review this on a daily basis and provide updates on the website and also via the PPG, CCG and Healthwatch.
If you have a clinical problem and cannot access Care at the Chemist, NHS 111 or the Walk in Centre, please call the practice and your request will be triaged by a member of the clinical team, this may mean you are signposted to the most appropriate service and to provide care in the most time efficient way.
After triaging your request, our clinician may offer you a telephone call, video appointment, or a face to face appointment – they will offer you the most appropriate appointment type based upon your presenting symptoms and to ensure you are seen in the quickest possible time. The majority of common conditions can be assessed and diagnosed by your doctor by telephone or video consultation. If you require a face to face appointment you may be asked to attend one of the 6 Aston Healthcare practices, this may not be your usual practice however if you have been triaged and require a face to face appointment we respectfully ask that you travel to the required location.
All requests for treatment will be triaged over the telephone and the most appropriate care will be offered to you, we are sorry for the impact this may have and we are doing everything we can to restore a full service as soon as possible.
We will continue to accept admin requests via e-Consult – please do not call the practice to check if we have received your request.
We would like to respectfully ask you to be understanding of the pressures facing all NHS services, including GP practices, despite the easing of Government restrictions. All our staff administration, receptionists and clinical staff are working extremely hard and working additional hours to provide you with the best possible service in the current circumstances, we would ask that you are respectful and courteous to the member of staff supporting you with your medical problem.
If you are asked to come into the surgery for a face-to-face appointment, please remember to wear a face covering. If you have a disability or condition which means you cannot wear a face covering or cannot communicate with someone who is wearing a face mask, or require other adjustments before your appointment, please let the surgery know ahead of your arrival.
The practice remains open the usual hours 8am to 6:30pm and we will do our best to support you, your feedback is always welcome and helps us to learn as a practice.
